Theme: Working with your stake leaders
Rachel Spencer is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who spent most of her life in self described, “denial and suppression of her attraction to women”. Rachel started to come out to herself in 2020 and has since been navigating how this reality impacts her closest relationships including to her former husband. Throughout this process, Rachel has deepened her testimony of the Savior and of Heavenly Parents and has been pursuing purpose and peace with her orientation as a Gay woman and as a member of The Church. Rachel has worked with local church leaders and has been speaking out more in forums like devotionals, a podcast, and firesides in an effort to create more belonging for LGBTQ members of The Church.
